Evidence Design is thrilled to be the lead creative partner for the Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center, a new 170,000 square foot addition to the California Science Center (CSC) and home to space shuttle Endeavour. EVD is providing comprehensive design services for this ambitious project, including architectural programming in collaboration with ZGF Architects to inform the building’s sculptural envelope.
Surrounded by sweeping views of iconic air and spacecraft in soaring exhibition halls that converge at the base of the eighteen-story-high space shuttle Endeavour, guests will discover landmarks of flight’s evolution, investigate inspiring aerospace innovations, and join the excitement of future space exploration.
While we create galleries and experiences to energize CSC’s air and spacecraft collection, Endeavour is on view in the Samuel Oschin Pavilion until December 31, 2023. The project broke ground in June 2022, and this is the last chance to visit the orbiter before it closes for several years to move into its new, permanent home. Related exhibits include Endeavour: The California Story, featuring shuttle artifacts, and Mission 26: The Big Endeavour, which celebrates the orbiter’s trip through Los Angeles to the California Science Center with iconic images and video.
