Evidence Design is thrilled to be working with the California Science Center (CSC) on the new Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center in Los Angeles—home of space shuttle Endeavour. In collaboration with ZGF Architects, EVD was invited early into the architectural planning process in order to help program this 170,000 square foot addition. Currently we are providing comprehensive design services for this ambitious project that includes over 150 exhibits.
Surrounded by sweeping views of iconic air and spacecraft in soaring exhibition halls that converge at the base of the eighteen-story-high space shuttle Endeavour, guests will discover the landmarks of flight’s evolution. By doing as well as seeing, through hands-on experiments, simulations and vivid large-screen presentations, guests will investigate the underlying laws of nature that make flight possible.
While we work together to create a permanent home and compelling exhibits for the Center’s collection of air and spacecraft, Endeavour is on view in the Samuel Oschin Pavilion. Related exhibits include Endeavour: The California Story, featuring shuttle artifacts, and Mission 26: The Big Endeavour, which celebrates the orbiter’s trip through Los Angeles to the California Science Center with iconic images and video.
