Evidence Design is the lead creative partner for the Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center, a new 170,000-square-foot addition to the California Science Center (CSC). On November 13th, 2026, the Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center will open its doors. The recent press event revealed the monumental installation of Space Shuttle Endeavour- the only place in the world to see a complete, authentic space shuttle system, displayed in a 20-story launch position, viewable from multiple perspectives and elevations.

Evidence Design is proud to be the lead exhibition planning and design partner throughout this journey. Enlisted early in the design process, we provided interpretive space planning for the air and spacecraft in the collection, developed interpretive approaches for the overall exhibitions, conceptualized the major media programs, and advised on technical integration systems for the building. Working closely with ZGF Architects and the California Science Center, EVD advised on everything from the guest experience of the vertically displayed Space Shuttle, to circulation patterns and stairwell placement to ensure an integrated, seamless, and powerful experience.

With sweeping views of iconic air and spacecraft in soaring exhibition halls, the project includes three multi-level galleries – the Samuel Oschin Shuttle Gallery, the Korean Air Aviation Gallery, and the Kent Kresa Space Gallery, which holds 100 rare and historic aerospace objects contextualized by 100 interactive experiences, mini-theaters, digital labels, and large-screen media where guests of all ages will be encouraged to investigate the scientific and engineering principles of atmospheric flight and the exploration of the universe.Guests will discover landmarks of flight’s evolution, investigate aerospace innovations, and join the excitement of future space exploration.
